Comment on Transportation & The “Art of Waiting” by Jacqueline Komuhendo

Okay, I've finished reading this very interesting article :).
Yes, it's very true that using public means of transport can be very trying. But sometimes for me, like it's been happening for you, this time turns out to be very fruitful, if I just choose to focus on GOD instead of complaining and thinking of giving the driver or conductor a piece of my mind.

Sometimes when I'm stuck in a jam, or we are waiting for the taxi to fill up, I use that time to read a book or pray or sing an uplifting song. I am praying that GOD will help me to do this more often :) coz sometimes it just gets to me! But just the thought that sulking and getting angry won't change a thing, but will instead spoil my moment, makes me think of doing something that will help me have a happy wait.

It's really true what someone said...something like... true patience is not about just waiting...but the attitude you keep while waiting... :)

I strongly believe that for GOD'S Children, everything happens for a reason, and absolutely NOTHING happens to GOD'S children hapharzardly. :)

I hope you continue to enjoy your stay, as you learn more and more about Uganda and Africa, and help to make changes for the best, as GOD enables you.

Cheers and GOD'S Blessings!

LOL!!! I've just about started reading this, and I find it really funny, although, in essence, it really is not funny that time should be wasted the way it does get wasted sometimes; in terms of transportation and otherwise...

I HATE the excuse that some people use for not keeping time: "...No hurry in Africa..."!
But I must admit that of course I am no angel, and I do fall short sometimes. I am trusting GOD to help me perfect my punctuality.

Like i said...I'm just started wit this... :) so let's see what my thoughts will be by the end!

LOL!

Cheers!

A.J. and Ana, praying for you daily. My S.S. school class is having a fundraiser this Sat. to raise money for you. Please pray for my grandaughter Emmie. She has been diagnosed with TEC (a rare disorder where the body is not producing enough red blood cells). She may have to have a blood transfusion Friday July 31st. May God richly bless you in your efforts. Working on my book. I love you both

Lina, your trip sounds like it was incredible. It calms most of my nerves and makes me so very excited for my own trip to Uganda in two short months!

Very interesting and important observations!!! I LOVE my motherland, Uganda!!! I really do, with a passion!!! But so much is apalling in our society, here in Uganda. Thanks for writing something about some of those nasty things, e.g. the corruption (horrible!), the traffic, e.t.c.

But more thanks for giving this a "lived happily ever after" ending!!! Thank you for pointing out that there certainly is Hope in CHRIST, for both Uganda and the United States (and all of the world)!

About the genuineness of the kindness...hard to tell sometimes. For example, I notice that people in my home district, Kyenjojo, are friendly and polite (am I biased??? :) Am not sure. They are friendly and nice to me, even if I am not a foreigner. So maybe that is genuine).
But if we are talking about the courtesy to foreigners, I guess that's harder to tell :) But maybe we'll just take it at face value, as it is :).

This is a very interesting post; thanks!
