Your prayers for Baby Paige are urgently needed…

As I write you, AJ and Faith are on their way to the hospital in Fort Portal, where baby Paige is very ill and fighting for her life.

This 4-month old little girl was brought into the Home Again children’s home a few weeks after her birth. Her mother was epileptic (unable to care for her) and her father – as well as the rest of her family and neighbors – neglected her. Bringing Hope to the Family tried to nurse this little fragile baby back to health.

When AJ and I came to Kaihura, we could tell that she had made a shocking recovery. She looked healthy. As I held her in church during our first Sunday worshiping in Kaihura, I admired how beautiful this little girl is. She has a lighter brown skin color and the sun reflected in her eyes the colors of honey with a hint of violet. She was smiling then.

Last week little Paige started with what would turn into unceasing diarrhea and vomit. Over the weekend she was rushed to the hospital because she had developed pneumonia. She could hardly breathe and was in need of oxygen, which is currently unavailable at the Kaihura clinic. Paige’s caregiver, ‘Mama Jackie’, has been with her at the hospital to this day. She has come to love this child so very much!

Today, AJ and I returned to Kaihura from a follow-up visit to Koreng (in Eastern Uganda) to learn that baby Paige has gone into a coma. Faith received the call from Mama Jackie, who was very distraught. Faith and AJ are going to see what they can do for Jackie and hope that they find the baby alive.
She is so very small, and has been able to make it this far…

Please pray with us that she can make it. Also pray for Mama Jackie and all who are hurting for this child.

I will send you and update as soon as I have one.

Much love,

Ana
